Kinesiology M.S.,

Mental Performance Consultant

About

Welcome to my virtual home. My name is Connor Payton, and I'm a recent Master's graduate specializing in Sport Psychology and Exercise Physiology. I am passionate about the science behind performance in any high-intensity situation, as well as how physical and mental preparation contribute to long-term success.

From the time I could remember, I've had a passion for sports, but more specifically, competition. Once the reality set in that participation within these sports would not progress much further for myself, I shifted my interest to identifying and maximizing talent in other individuals. Throughout my upbringing, I have developed a unique perspective on leadership, preparation, and high-performance culture, as well as having opportunities to discuss these words and their definitions with some of the world's best, in both professional sports and the arts.

Although my upbringing is an important part of my story and who I am, I've always felt a call to bridge the gap between the performer you watch on screen, to the performer themselves. What is everything that makes you you? My own path is one with the desire to shift the focus to the individualized person, as well as researching techniques to best identify who are capable of consistent performance in high-intensity situations.

Draft Research Analyst
Denver Broncos

Training Camp Personnel & Operation Assistant
New Orleans Saints

During my undergraduate studies at TCU, I assisted in a variety of roles with the shared vision of success for the program. From managing elite high school prospect visits and transfer portal film evaluations, to managing 500 local youth at our annual summer camp, I was fortunate enough to help my Horned Frogs in any role they needed.

With a long standing passion in scouting & personnel at the highest level, I was able to have the opportunity to gain insight from some of the top minds during the annual NFL Draft, as well as provide my own analysis on the of prospects attempting to make the professional jump.

Before the NFL games start, the New Orleans Saints' initial preparations for the upcoming season, known league-wide as "Training Camp", initiate. I assisted in numerous roles within the most fluctuating period of a club's year. Meticulous data entry and analysis, practice film evaluation, roster management decisions, and developing a positional-based scouting portfolio  comprise my experiences.

Mental Performance Individual Consultant
UNT Golf

November 2025 - May 2026

Through my Master's practicum, I had the chance to follow and work alongside with four of Ursuline Academy's athletic programs. My role focused on performance enhancement through introducing and equipping high school athletes with mental tools to improved their current and future abilities to succeed in high-intensity and stressful environments.

The University of North Texas awarded me the opportunity to assist UNT golfers as a part of my graduate program. In these individual sessions, my goal was to provide tips and tools to enhance on-field performance, based on each individual's needs and shared concerns.
